Does it get better...?

Hey guys,

I just started playing this game. I played the original back in the day and I enjoyed it. Characters were good and the setting really attracted me (even though I found it a little boring at times).

The thing is Oxenfree 2 is not doing it for me and I don't know if I'm the problem...? The first 20 minutes were awful, with all that repeating. And I kind of dislike the main character and first friend (even the girl in the phone, a little). They all sound like actors trying to force being casual and natural, but sound really...off.

I kept going for like 1 hour, but man, it was really dragging and uninteresting.
Does it get better? I mean, do better characters appear and does the storytelling actually get some good pacing?

I'm finding the same. I like the first game but this is just a bit dull. Too much climbing about on a dull mountain listening to mostly dull chat. Put an hour and half in now and don't think I'm going to bother doing more.

I wish they would make a sequal, spiritual or otherwise, to Afterparty. I love that game. Way better than both Oxenfrees tbh. If you haven't played it I recommend giving it a try. Its better in every way.

I totally get it. I stopped playing completely. Too much games, too little time to waste! I was actually afraid of playing the next in queue: The Walking Dead A New Frontier and, unlike Oxenfree 2, it actually hooked me from minute 1!
Thanks for the recommendation! I looked for Afterparty and wishlisted it! Will definitely give it a try :-D

This game never get any good. They missing all the core mechanics made the first game great and unless they rewrite the game from scratch its never get any good, but this game was already a salvaged cashgrab from an abandoned project. Nobody will spend a second do any work on it anymore so rip.
Afterparty is a game come out after Oxenfree and its not a bad game either its just too goofy and too much on a haha - 'we like drinking alcohol a lot' kinda humour not really my type but it is an unique idea and environment for the game for sure with lots of variety.

Nah, not really. Finished it today, was really disappointed. Somehow game managed to tarnish the first one with its story twist as well.

I wanted to leave a negative review, but the developers removed it from sale in my region.

Oxenfree 2 is a perfectly average game that "could" have been a lot better; part of it was the development issues they were having and then Netflix got involved and likely changed a lot of the direction it was moving in.

the game "world" is larger than the first but, doesn't increase the action you can do, the time travel mechanic was a really big missed opportunity to interact with the first game and characters (which the majority of players wanted to interact with), the story was given extra unnecessary plot points which only confused the existing story line.
