Controls are wonky
Just starting out. Controls are wonky. clicking on a location can sometimes make Riley get stuck doing a loop. And she doesn't stand still unless you click on a location. If you resume using WASD, Riley continues to wander to the left. There does seem to be control axis reset.

Ok. It's official. The controls suck. During the orientation about the job, the controls work fine - both mouse and WASD. After that, none of works well. I can mouse-click left just fine, but a mouse-click right has Riley getting stuck spinning until i hit the WASD keys.

Another update: the controls work fine while Riley or someone else is talking -- both mouse and WASD. But as soon as the dialog stops, the controls are screwy again. Very frustrating when trying to travel to the right...

I'm encountering something similar, though the drift is to the right for me, I can take limited control if I'm pressing the right button and then press another input.

I'm having the same issue with the drifting. It's quite frustrating

This is my exact issue. It automatically goes right and the only way of making it go left is by pressing the up or down key

Thanks for the feedback here! Has restarting the game fixed the drifting issue? We'd love to take a closer look, would you be up for sharing details in our customer support portal here: {LINK REMOVED}

We're grateful that you're playing the game today!

I am having the same issue. After the radio sequence at the start, the character just keeps spinning and heading right.

Yeah, Reilly is spinning or moving to the left. I can move but the minute I let off the WASD keys, she starts spinning or walking off.

Restarting the game does not fix the drifting issue. It feels like the game is getting an "A" input somewhere. The game starts running to the left during the first scene and once it reaches left limit up the first set of stairs the game keeps running in circles and it is possible to get to the top via mouse pathfinding so it doesn't look like it's registering a key press on my side otherwise it would cancel the point and click, correct?

no issues for me and Im using a mouse. controls are good and smooth.

I'm having the same issues. I'm stuck going left from the very beginning. Non-directional buttons seem to register just fine. I started off using a controller on PC, but after enough trouble I disconnected all other control inputs and tried using mouse navigation only. This almost works, but the character will navigate to the point I click and then spin and sometimes walk a little bit left again, like a constant left input is being registered from another source (but I've ruled everything out on my end). The amount of left pull seems
sporadic when it's fighting with a mouse click anchor, but if I try WASD it will go back to hard left as soon as I input any direction. I also tried disconnecting Battle.net, since Diablo 4 had a vaguely similar issue while Steam was open (constant up input). This didn't seem to change anything for Oxenfree 2 though. This issue is rendering the game unplayable for me so far.

That makes me wonder if the game is seeing phantom input from external devices. I've got a flight-stick installed, but not plugged in, it caused issues with Dead Space as well. Going to poke the controls menu and see if it's possible to wipe configuration for controllers, as that's what fixed Dead Space for me.

No way to nuke the control settings, and plugging in a XBox controller does not fix the issue, going to continue troubleshooting just in case it's a local configuration issue.

Engaging Boost mode causes my game to loose the left direction drift and to gain right direction drift.

Bump to this. Mine is also moving to the left constantly. It's a phantom input moving left. Doesn't affect other games and no controller connected. It's a constant battle to move to the right or stand still and renders the game unplayable.

Disabling VJoy did the trick for me.
I think Omega was on the right track about phantom controller inputs, I have flight sticks though they weren't plugged in either.
