Do the in-game cheats deactivate achievement unlocks?

Uh, yes and no, I of course messed around with cheats/modes after beating the game, and I was able to get the Rank+difficulty achievements, and any unlocks those give (More cheat tapes/modes) yet I didn't get the achievements for beating the game without using the toolbox or only using the first gun for example, so, you can get most achievements, but not the ones for beating the game only doing X it seems like, so use free cam mode and anything else when getting all tapes or helping all the puppets. btw, if you use free cam mode and go into the final room in the hotel, that seems to set a flag that once you go outside, it plays the final cutscene which beats the game, so you can get S+ rank in about 30 seconds on all difficulties if you don't care about doing it in a "legit" way.

Hey so can you use no clip to get the difficulty achievements, like basically just cheat the game and get the commando achievement

Necro'ing an old thread but it still comes up in google searches so whatever. I'm pretty sure this is long since patched, tried it myself and several achievements won't unlock using this method (unless there's some flag you have to check or something). Tapeless, Streamlined, Simplicity, Survivor, Reckless, First Mission, War Hero and Commando all do not unlock (at least they didn't for me) if you complete the game in this way -- I presume they can't unlock if you have any cheats or modes at all enabled.

You also can't just free-cam into the final room anymore, you need to do the jigsaw piece puzzle, then do the last 5 second climbing part, then pull the lever and only then can you go back outside to trigger Ricky, as far as I can tell.
