An Old Friend quest

So, I'm on the last leg of this game, and I'm trying to find the house with the godlet in it. Supposedly, it's in the "western forest of Hallowshire," and I'm not sure if that means the north-western forest or the south-western jungle. I've scoured both, but no luck. Could anyone point me in a direction (nearest landmark or something)?

In hallowshire follow the river going northwest until you reach a waterfall, the water is coming from a small lake up above. From where this small lake is you will see a small-tower-looking house floating on a small island. The ghost woman is nearby, talk to her first.

You can actually see this small lake where the river ends on your map.

got over there but funnily enough door is locked with the guard not telling me anything outside of the class F godlet mention

You need to talk to the ghost near the house for the door to unlock

What is the reward for this quest if you help the ghost? I did not see a pop up and cannot find anything in my inventoyr.

Same here, I'm also curious as to the reward but can't figure out what it is.

I marathoned this game in a daze after launch, so I unfortunately can't remember what the reward was, or if there was one. . .

Found it!

Hallowshire has three rivers. NW, NE, and S. Follow the NW one ALL the way until the NNW edge of the map. This is right next to the 'strange house' that's labelled on the map.

I remember you at least get a delusion when you turn in the quest back at the Blinding Light. I think you can get an item of some sort in the house as well, but it might depend on a dialogue choice.
