How to upgrade treasures?

I saw a guide here on Steam that had some recipes, but all I got was Spirits and my treasures disappeared!

Was this removed after EA like ore upgrading?

You need to use the Exceptional Spirits (looks like pink liquid in a spherical bottle) on modest treasures to upgrade them to remarkable treasures, or on remarkable treasures to upgrade them to Glorious Treasures, which is the highest level of treasure (looks like a treasure chest on your inventory screen). The easiest way to get exceptional spirits is to put throwing knives in one slot at the alchemy table and shuriken in the other slot, which gives you Weak Spirits. Combine two Weak Spirits to get Strong Spirits, and combine two Strong Spirits to get Exceptional Spirits.

If you run low on shurikens for making weak spirits, you can make shurikens by combining two throwing knives.

Thanks for the detailed answer! I was using Strong Spirits, that's why I was loosing my treasures :p
