Yup, something definitely happened in 1.0, didn't have any performance problems before, and now experience regular drops to low 30s with RX6600. This game doesn't have the graphics or complexity to justify such drops.

CPU is being hammered for some reason

We've gotten a few of these reports today and are actively investigating.
It seems to be a CPU issue but if you all could share your full PC specs that would be very helpful!

Steam Deck user here as well, performance does seem a bit more sluggish going into 1.0. But that just might be the because the starting area is in a heavier location performance wise? I wouldn't know for sure as I've only played about 40 minutes pre-and-post 1.0 update. But the 40 minutes I played pre-update were definitely way smoother, with the game holding 60FPS pretty much all the time. Now it varies quite a bit. With frames going as low as 32 when facing certain directions.

Performance is just awful.

I use Unreal 5 for my game and I can run my game with Lumen on, with same rig playing it at more stable FPS than this game. It's unreal how awful the performance is on a 3060Ti.

Is there no LOD or just not enough optimization, can't tell. Open areas are the biggest culprit. This game should be running at 5000 FPS, not dipping down to 40-50 FPS constantly from 144 (same issue as OP for me).

Not sure I would blame Unity, I've played games in Unity of this scale with better performance.

Getting also fps drops on proton, from stable 75 (my refresh rate) to 50 when looking towards the castle in the starting area. RX6700, ryzen 5 5500, 16 gb ram 3200 MHz and ssd

FYI, turning on "Low Latency Mode" in nVidia CP helped me get rid of drastic frame drops.

They still seem to happen, but usually game fluctuates around 60+ FPS, unlike before when it was dipping to 50 FPS with visible lag, giving me a headache.

Game is just poorly optimized in the end, using a lot of CPU vs GPU. Could be just Unity magic. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

4070 super , Intel i5-12400F , 32gb ram same problem with lags every now and then

Intel i5-12400, Intel Arc A770, 16 gb rab, SSD. Frames drops from 165 to 25-30 when facing some directions

i5-10300H, 8GB RAM, GTX 1650, using SSD. Generally playable but there is some considerable slowdown especially when looking towards an area with lots of stuff in.

Steam deck (OLED) as well,
Starting prison for example runs between 20 fps and 90 fps no matter what resolution/settings I use. I thought it was when looking outside but even looking at the floor I was seeing wide FPS swings.

I'm on Steam Deck and most of the game is locked 60 but sometimes I'll go out into a field and it'll just go to 20fps. It's not even busy scenes like cities, every time it's just a field or something
