Hi brywynhul7
Oculus users need to setup oculus to open apps outside Oculus Store.
Follow those instructions and it should work!

My headset is an oculus quest 2

i have made sure my Oculus app is set to allow outside resources, just as the link directed. the Settings screen was different looking. Same thing though. i have restarted my computer and uninstalled/ reinstalled Helicopter Simulator VR. i have made sure that my Logitech Profile program is off, even in the task bar. the only other functions besides Oculus that are running on my task bar, are core, such as email, explorer, etc.
What am I not doing right?

Also DCS and X-Plane work through Steam with my Oculus Quest 2 great.

Hi brywynhul77, I am trying to find out what is happening.

It seams to be a authorization problem. I found this solution :
1 - Restart PC
2 - On PC, Launch Virtual Desktop AS ADMIN
3 - On PC, Launch Steam (NOT VR MODE, just the Steam app itself)
4 - On QUEST 2, Launch Virtual Desktop
5 - On QUEST 2, in desktop mode on steam (ON YOUR Q2), tap "VR" in the upper-right corner to launch VR mode
6 - Enjoy

After doing that the first time, you will need to launch HFS 2021 VR through Virtual Desktop on your Quest 2.

Let me know if it works ok?

Works fine with both my Oculus Rift cv1 and Quest 1 w/Link. Both on v27 btw. Also just tested it with my Q1 wireless w/Virtual Desktop and it worked perfect using its touch controllers.

Hi [FA-51] Supra,
Do you have SteamVR installed? I develop the game using an Oculus Rift. It should work!

It should be installed by default, but you can try to do that to fix this problem.
Install it first, with this link:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/250820/SteamVR/

then launch the game again.
Hope it helps!

I have the same problem. Other VR games run from Steam ok. When I launch helicopter sim, I get nothing on my headset and a small window on my PC with the game in.

i run it fine the first two times on my rift 2. but now it wont load on my rift. noticed in the game window on desktop that it showed the controlers (left hand game pannel) that it was ranning in vive controler mode. was in oculus mode the first time.

also tryed uninstall and reg clean ect with restart reinstall. stilled didnt fix the problem. tryied launching direct from oculus and every other combo you can think of. no joy. any ideas?

Works fine with my Oculus Quest 2 with Link cable or wireless with Air Link. I find it best to startup SteamVR beforehand, get into the SteamVR void, and then select the app. Also, make sure you do not have too much supersampling (both Oculus SS and SteamVR %pixel density) or this may crash the app. Start off with 1.0 SS and 100% SteamVR SS. Using the latest SteamVR beta and Oculus v29 btw. Also, latest nvidia driver and all win10 updates.

Well since I believe that this app has been developed with an Oculus headset I guess they will be better able to see if they can find your problem. You may also want to contact Oculus support with your logfiles to see if they can identify your problem. Good luck mate.
