Would make sense if both the Surprise Glove and the Lover's Grip were not gloves but another kind of equipment like a trinket. It also doesn't help that there is an actual glove slot.

Yeah it's not a goggles slot it's an accessory slot as it's not an armored glove that can break it's an invincible accessory item that's flavored as a glove.
