How am I supposed to break him if he has a recharger?
If he has a recharger that means you're playing on one of the harder difficulties... not recommended for a first playthrough. You could switch down the difficulty - perhaps just for for this encounter. OR the real answer is you need to figure out a way to deal enough damage in one hit. It's possible but as a new player you're not all that likely to have discovered how,
If you don't want to change down the difficulty and aren't able to deal high damage in a single hit... your best option is to backtrack to look for more ego. There is an EGO ENGINE not too far away - you have probably missed it I think. Or go all the way back to the Rocket launch area and explore around for blobs of ego and friendly hosts.
I'd be happy to load your save here and record one way to do it if you're still not convinced!
