I can't use my controller

I'm having trouble using my controller to play the Oddworld games. They all have a feature to use one but i half the buttons don't work or are used in a wierd way. I don't know if theres something wrong with my games or if its someing else. Please help me figure out whats wrong.

I don't think it's your games. I have the same issues on the first two games.

I have not. And I noticed that my keyboard has issues with handling the input of 3 or more keys at once to pull off certain moves, such as running and jumping at the same time. So I might have to put the first two Oddworlds to rest and continue Stranger's Wrath. No issues with that one so far.

I guess you have noticed the 360 isn't exactly configured to support all of Abe's moves I tried it as well.Steam has hardware that will work if you want to be bothered buying it for the game. I just finished playing the original Odd World using keyboard, as far as that goes precise timing is everything using the keyboard the controller is a bit more forgiving(not by much though) or your keyboard might need a clean that could help a bit the games are old and the down loads are'nt that great sometimes but don't give up I think the Odd world games are pretty rewarding if you put up a fight!!!! I'm about to start Abe's Exodus I'll post a review on my page when I'm done using keyboard again! So check it out and friend me if you like Good Luck

i guess i was a little too vague when i asked for help. Im confussed why the controller doesn't work becuase they have the contraller pad option in the setup menu. Why would it be there and not be configered to a controller? Also, I don't think its becuase they didn't make for the xbox. Oddworld Stangers wrath was made for the xbox and im having the same problem with that game as well. so if anyone can help figer out why this is happening that would truley help :)

My 360 controller works fine once selected from the menu, albeit there are some combinations that seem dificult or impossible to pull off.

Originally the Odd World franchise was made for PS and yes it did come out for XB etc but these games are quite old and if you downloaded the original versions there may be some glitches with controls( a PS controler may work better?) and other areas of the games which i have also experienced you can get on the net and download controler programme patches so your computer and game can recognise the hardware but i have had trouble with this as well thats why i have been using my keyboard to play Abes Oddysee and Exoddus the games are just too old i think. I would try the controller programme(not sure which one would suit your system best you might have to try a few) im sorry im not much help just talking about what i have experienced.

its fine. i know that they where made for the PS origalnly. and now that you mention it, i did see that the PS4 controller worked (for only this game) better then the Xbox 360 controller. Can you send me a link to the site with these patches?

ok, Checked it out but im not sure if it would work. If i get it can and It dosn't work can i get my money back?

Pinnacle game profiler is pretty good, though it's not free. Anyway, I think it's worth those six bucks, it makes it possible to play pretty much any game with a controller, in any way you want. For me it's definitely worth the back pain I'm avoiding by not playing with kb+m so much...

And yes, it works with AE, tested myself ;-)
