My interpretation of the ending (SPOILERS)
So our main character takes bodies of people he knows down into his basement and puts them in some sort of demonic pit, that rips out their souls so that the player character can put them in a metal body to perminatly sit in an audience (Called DSP or Dead Seated Person).
The computer robots that don't like the light might be demons or any hostile spirit that attacks the player when disturbed. And as for the reason the main character is doing all this: so he wouldn't be lonely. In his mind, keeping his friends and loved ones dead seated will keep them close so he'll never be lonely again.

In one of the rooms there is a computer robot that doesn't do anything, I think that is the robot that his father's soul is supposed to go in. He said "waiting upstairs", where the bodies are at that isn't upstairs, that is on the same level he was already on when he made that statement.

So the body that kept chasing him through the game is his Mother, hence the empty seat and him stating she can't stop him, so I think that means her soul never left her body. Then the robots were all his victims souls inside of them. The mother and his victims were trying to stop him from continuing what he is doing.

Oh you're right! I always thought those charred looking figures in the seats were just metal over their original corpse, but being the robot computers makes a lot more sense! Whatever the main character is doing to their souls seems to be iffy and not work all the time. Hence why at the Mother is still in her body and why one of the DSPs moves their head towards the end.

Discovered this game through Twitch recently, a streamer was playing a bunch of random horror games (luckily didn't see any major spoilers), I finished it tonight and thought it was a fun spooky ride & the ending sent chills down my spine lol, Good stuff.
