Possible Bug? Maybe?

So, I reached the part of the game where you're submerged under water and have to line your ship up with that underwater docking station. You swim in through the hatch on the right, complete that puzzle by lowering some mechanism isn't a machine... and then have to winch it out.

I've played this game before, so I remembered how to solve this. However, last night I was in the middle of doing the puzzle. I swam into the facility, completed the puzzle, and the hatch above opened. I was trying to take the winch down and through the left side... but everytime I tried entering... the winch broke free of my hand. I could not get it to go into the facility with me. Thinking THIS was bugged, I quit the game, loaded it back up... but now the game appears to be stuck...

Now the hatch along the right is closed. The hatch leading into the facility is now closed (it WAS just opened)... and my ship is stuck docked. I can't undock my ship, I can't go through either of the hatches... I literally have nowhere to go right now. Somehow closing the game and going back in caused the main hatch leading into the facility to permanently close...

maybe you only get one shot at it and you have to load from checkpoint

I ended up going back to my last checkpoint. That fixed it but still wanted to report it. Super weird.

Having exactly the same issue. Would be great to have it fixed.

It's frustrating, but if you go back to the previous check point... you're not far from that area. Just need to do the puzzle again and don't quit mid-puzzle. I got passed it doing this.

Yep, thanks, I've already passed that part using one of the previous saves. Anyway, the game is excellent. Hopefully, this problem will be fixed really soon.

I had issues with exactly same part, but in a slightly different way. I docked, solved the puzzle and got stuck for a good 30 minutes doing everything I can and nothing happen. I gave up, watched youtube walkthrough, host were doing same as I did (trying to power up the thing by burning stuff). But I burned almost everything and nothing happens. Was able to move on only after I've restarted from previous save - this time it worked as intended, engine powered up the thing and I moved on... Very frustrating

Have anyone found a workaround for this? I'm stuck at the exact same point, my first time playing this game. I've watched videos of how it's supposed to work, I've tried going back both one and two save points, I've tried updating drivers and restarting my computer, and pretty much every other trick I could think, but no matter what I do, the end result is the same: As soon as my character swims through the opening into the docking tower or whatever it is, winch in hand, the winch immediately flies out of the room, and just hangs there. Very, very annoying, as I loved the first game, and I've loved this one up to now, but I really, really want to go on!

I don't remember this too well, but I do recall starting over from the previous checkpoint. I don't remember what caused it, but when I reloaded the game... it worked.

Guys, what did you do to go through it? I started the previous checkpoint, the checkpoints before it, and it did not help. Could you send game saves to download, so I could complete it, please?

So you only went back one checkpoint? I tried that, too, then I went back one further, but the problem persisted.

I'm so sorry. Not 100% sure for you. I know going back to a previous checkpoint fixed it for me.

So, if it fixed the game to you, it means you completed the game, right? Can you send your saves data for all of us?
