I use DS4windows and use the controller in DS4 mode (since the DS4 and the game are both Dinput instead of Xinput)
Also you can ignore the stuff about getting fullscreen if you're already fine with that.
You probably don't need to do all that if your using the DS4 natively, however quicksave/quickload, pausing and saving (filenames) are keyboard only, and you are stuck with the analogue stick only (probably not an issue for older digital only dinput controller).
There are more issues with xbox controllers since the game was made way before microsoft standardised xbox controllers for windows.
