Foundation/Basement elevator??

I got the foundation and a key card to activate the elevator button and I clicked on it and nothing happened. Any tips on where to look or do I need a specific floor plan?? I could be going to fast I have not gotten to the Antechamber yet.

there is no key card you just draft behind it once to unlock

at the bottom of the foundation just before the basement door there's a big red button and a key card access point, I put the key card so the lights are green and pressed the button but nothing happened or opened

That's used to call the lift if you've come from the other direction, if you came down the lift then it's already there so the button won't do anything.

what happens in real life when you hit an elevator button? the elevator comes to your floor and the door opens. Oh, look at that over there, the elevator is on your floor and the door is open.
