Blue Prince
Clock Tower Puzzle alternative solution
Hi there, I made it to the clock tower and waited until 1:30.

I entered the times: 5:00, 6:00, 6:57, 6:58, 7:00, 8:00, 8:56, 9:00 which as far as I can tell satisfies all of the requirements. Unfortunately I stepped outside of the chamber wondering if something changed outside and the door closed on me forcing me to end the day. Very frustrating!

Unless I'm missing something this should be a valid solution?

Edit: I was wrong here is why:
Forblaze eredeti hozzászólása:

red note: set this clock to a time containing all different numbers
red note means it's false, so the time it's set to can't be all different numbers
6:57 has no duplicate numbers

when you enter the correct times i think a drawer will open with a sanctum key

Yeah, I looked up the intended solution after that and it for sure did not trigger for me. I think the devs just missed this?

as a note somewhere (i think in the security room) says, notes in red are false, so this applies to clock rule notes as well. although even with that in mind, i struggled a bit with that puzzle myself as well (botched the first run) due to the order direction rule being very ambiguous.

so your spoiler is correct but: handwritten red notes are true

hmm are you sure? is it explicitly mentioned somewhere? because if so, that'd be too much of a dîck move by the devs.

Clock #3 is invalid.

I don't remember where it was said but yes

It’s on the same note that tells you that red notes are false

Can you put in spoiler tags how so?

Try using the magnifying glass on that note in the Security room that tells you about the red/blue notes.

Hand written red notes are NOT false.
I just know the third sanctum key is definitely in the clock tower, and its floor tells me I have to wait. I waited until 8:00 finding no sign of the key. Is it something related to the times I have entered the clock tower, rather than actual in-game time-of-the-day? I may try entering the clock tower for eight times the next time I got lucky enough to arrive there.

Would be a nice pun but slightly less nice for nonnative English speaker.

8:00 is not the correct time.

Ouch. I may try reading the clock face from a different direction. 1:30 maybe to read it upside-down? Probably both require wait timing and times of entry. Probably waiting until 1:30, then enter the clock tower for 8 times?

Solution: You're overthinking it a bit, just be in the room by 1:30. :)

Gotcha. Would consider this is one of the more brutal keys to acquire... Hope I will be lucky enough to have a clock tower early in the run...

I think you're underestimating how long it takes for 1:30 to roll around.

Key #8 is causing me *much* more grief.

ok yeah i checked it and it's there, but wow, it really was a dîck move. i know there's magnifying glass, but i only use it when it looks like something is hidden, and that one looks like a normal clean note. i'm kind of glad it came up now, as otherwise i'd be totally stupefied by it next time.
