[Spoilers] Currently day 63, QoL suggestions I wish the game had
I'm playing the game on Game Pass and I really enjoy it. It hooked me, and I managed to reach the Chamber on day 14 and then enter room 46 in only 18 days. Since then, the game has slowly become more and more tedious and somewhat painful in terms of investment vs. reward.

I know there are some nice upgrades that help with progression, like the Armory, Remote Terminals, Room Upgrades, changing rarities... but still, the RNG can be so ungrateful sometimes.

Having over 50 days in the game and being locked before 10 rooms is just disrespectful.

So here are some things I really wish the game would change:

- Dartboard puzzle: I know there's an upgrade for easier math, still haven't got that disk tho... and at this point, I just draft that room and ignore the dartboard. I don't want to handle the puzzle just for a key. I already have the trophy, and sometimes it just doesn't feel worth my time.

- Terminal and Security: Please make the key security settings permanent. There’s no point in having to spend time every time I enter that room to unlock the keycard in case it's offline. There’s no downside to that setting, just let me make it permanent. At the very least, reduce the animations, same with the network password.

- Repeated animations: There are a lot of animations that should be faster once you’ve beaten the game: digging, terminals, the Rotunda button, the cranks in the Secret Garden, Cloister puzzle...

- Boiler setup: I get that the game involves RNG, but my gawd, this puzzle for the lab is ridiculous. You need to place two specific rooms together and match the doors to unlock the permanent upgrade. It took me over 10 days in-game to get this setup. I don’t know if the boiler should cover the full mansion area, or if the rarity of those two rooms should be reduced—or maybe more rooms with ducts to connect them.

- Visual indicators: Sometimes I forget I have Shelter available and could pick a red room, or that I have a disk upgrade in my inventory. Maybe filling the HUD with icons isn’t ideal and opening the menu is part of the design, but I can’t be the only one who’s missed this in some runs.

- Journal/log: I have a Google Doc with over 40 pages of data and screenshots to keep track of puzzles. Maybe the game could give us a bit of help here and include some kind of log with the documents you find, for example.

- Workshop: Again with the RNG, some items should be easier to obtain if you need them for a puzzle. It took me a lot of days to open a wall in the TOMB because it required lighting some torches, and that required: having TOMB as an outer room + getting a magnifying glass + a metal detector + a Workshop. And no, I didn’t have the Armory back then, and no, I couldn’t use the Coat Check because I had a very rare item there that I didn’t want to lose. I don’t know if there’s an upgrade disk that helps with this already, but being able to save multiple items in the Coat Check, or obtaining Workshop items more easily (outer room or Commissary special orders) might help with these issues. A similar thing happened when I needed the special hammer to break wall, it required 3 items + Workshop + going to the place.

- Option to skip time: There are a couple of puzzles like the Shelter safe or Clock Tower that require specific timings, and having to wait can be boring. It’s very specific, but I wouldn’t mind an option to skip time to a specific hour quickly.

Thanks if you’ve read all this. Feel free to share your thoughts or other suggestions—I’ll read them

yeah all of this
More QoL: Leave the safes open permanently after you figure out the combinations. Automatically enter the remote network login password. Skip animation on the boat. Running shoes to give speed boost.

The devs should make a permanent change to the default walking speed tbh. Even the "run" speed is painfully slow (like many, many other things).

At times, game is just wasting your time, with no benefits. Terminal animation as you enter staff options is one of the chief crimes here. I absolutely dread entering it. There should also be late game mechanic of allowing you to rotate rooms as they are placed. At that end game, everything is figured, and pointless dead end runs, because of a few wrong dice rolls, are just ruining enjoyment.

A carry-able watch for in game time purchasable from the unlockable giftshop or something could help, there are a lot of clocks in room but i just rarely take the shelter thanks to how annoying i found opening its safe was.
The Dartboard: ( I'm close to reaching the trophy) What they should do is once you gain the trophy, you get a permanent upgrade where the dartboard remains open since you proved yourself over and over during the game.

Terminal: I agree only on the speed part. Increase the speed and make the password permanent once you find it.

Animation: They should just add an option inside the setting to make them faster, so old players can skip every animation easily.

Journal/Log: This! This is what created so much confusion for some players. It's my only big downside from this game. The fact that this game forces you to take a lot of notes & pictures and that the devs didn't implement an in-game board to support this, it's super bad in terms of gameplay design. A lot of players go into this thinking they have to solve X puzzle right away or X secret by X day, That's not how this game work. It's more a game of collecting pieces of information, creating links between X & Y, and looking back to an old clue that may tell you something new with your current information. Either the devs need to add a log book where you can write and see your progression or they add a board that you can add your stuff on. I can't stress enough how this is the biggest flaw of the game.

Option to skip time: Something interesting is they could add a meditation room(new puzzle) where you can unlock a permanent upgrade to once a day past the time to until Xh and gain back X number of steps.

The safes: Not only should they remain open when you solve them, but the room should add an indicator with +1 Gem on it so you don't forget. (As a permanent upgrade)

By the way, there is a way to significantly speed up animations and everything. Start Cheat Engine, and open the games process in it, then just enable "Speedhack", and you can increase the speed of everything in the game in it.

I'd like to see a grid-map on each page of the room directory indicating how many times a room has been drafted in each space; eventually it will make heatmaps of each room's probable placement!
My personal big wish is an in-game journal and camera. The journal would just have empty headings, and when you encounter a room or area, it fills a heading. Any notes/books you read in an area automatically get added under that heading (although you can't use a magnifying glass in your personal journal, just to make it so that you actually need to bring the glass to the specific room. Just say it's that the camera quality is too low to show those small details or the like), pictures you take get added to that room's section, and you can write notes in the journal both in a general notes section and under a room's entry.

I don't want the game to give me anything. I want it to save me the annoyance of going "Welp, time to F12 15 times in a row" when I find a new book. It's also nice to not have to deal with steam's laggy UI when I'd prefer to do everything in game.

You could make it a permanent meta-upgrade after you get to room 46 or draft a specific room or whatever, just give me the QoL of an in-game journal.

On the room cards, have an indicator which ones spread steam to help with boiler room puzzles.
Yeah, the whole keeping an external journal thing was cute when I was writing down key words. It was less cute when my choices were redrawing an entire diagram or map or taking a screenshot.

An animation speed toggle after a certain point would be nice as well. And please stop telling me what a metal detector does every time I pick it up, I am on day 80-something, I know.
