There is something else needed to decode the X -> Y -> Z -> A -> B -> C code.
It's related to the sign puzzle. But, this puzzle requires something outside of the book itself to solve. There's actually a hint for what that is on the page containing the "X -> Y -> Z etc" writing in A New Clue... there sure are a lot of documents on that table!
To your other question about the departure page, The rooms listed on the departure page are important, but a separate puzzle from the XYZ/signs puzzles. Try looking through the whole book with a magnifying glass again :)
This book had so much going on haha. Good luck!
Those two hints I figured out too. However I can't decipher the chalk board and the suspect list and the "ma/jor" hint.
This book is really wild...
At least one of the chalkboard clues is a hint for one of the red envelope safe codes And another seems to be for the picture puzzles . I have no clue about the "rearranging the book title" though.
For ma/jor it miiiiight be a clue that it's Erajan? Ma = small and jor = name, so "small name"? No clue where to go from there though.
Haven't had a chance to look at the signs again, as I've been prioritizing other books when I get the library...
And I got at least some of the stuff on the departure page - the corner cases at least :)
Ohh that's what it was! makes so much sense lol. I just assumed the colors were for the library book covers! and yes the sign was referring to the subway map so that you can decipher the a b c x y z
I think the ma/jor has to do with the suspect list and the memos, but maybe there're other hints in the house
Also what about the signs? What train? Can a train stop in the train station in the safe house somehow? How? a hint would be enough for this one
this has to do with the pump room, you need to power it to solve that but i don't think it has relations to the clues in the book... But who knows...
Now i guess you don't have the words for my queston? Or what to do with the signs?
I figured out everything (I think) in this book last night. There are clues related to at least 4 different puzzles (safe codes, where to find microchips, suspect, and signs) and some of them opens up to late game… yes after solving them I believe we are still in the mid game, and it’s true when ppl joke about the room 46 is only end of tutorial.
The signs are actually just a first step to decipher the words from the books. It’s to solve something else in the pictures: X -> Y -> Z -> A -> B -> C
Hint: connects all signs in each picture gives a direction
Hint 2: there’s a train route map next to the train station
After this you will know each number for each letter. Answer: 8 -> 7 -> 3 -> 10 -> 1 -> 13
As for the books words, final answer if you really wanna know:
turn scorched sundial base
Oooooh, i figured it out with your first hint... i should have remembered "tanner fork" from the subway map, didn't think to recheck....
Anyway, somehow i completely misinterpreted what the book wanted me to do... i thought XYZABC was just to tell you how to find the word by itself, like Page B = page 5 cause it's the fifth letter in the line, and it fits with the page in the exemple, and word Y being the 25th word cause it's the 25th letter in the alphabet... and it also worked with the exemple since the 25th word is "the" and it's squared in red in the exemple... But i realise it wouldn't make sense, he would have just square "THE" and not "THE WAY" if that was the case!
But thanks to your first hint i figured the direction and found the word sundial!
Thankfully, i was right when i checked all the words you put at the end, saving me time from having to refind the library and order all the books!
Thanks again!
