I need help! MAYBE SPOILERS AHEAD! only read this if you already solved the Office and Study

I need help with the safes in the Study room and the Office.

So here is the thing: The Boudoir did have the answer to the code inside the room so I guess its no difference with the Study and the Office.

So I am pretty sure in the Study Room it has something to do with the chess board and the black Queen standing on D8 (because next to the safe is standing a big black queen) but I dont know how to connect these in my mind. It seems like its missing something.

Same in the Office. I think it has something to to with this list of (books? I guess)

I dont want the answer but a little hint would be nice. I am on that since hours (at least everytime when I got the rooms) and I just cant solve it.

You are right about both your claim (chess board and list of books)

For the chess board, try writing it down and to say it out loud, it can help. Then think of what it mean on the board position

For the Office, it's about the same. There is a hint in another room, but all you need to solve is in the room

As for the chest, all the ones i've found so far use the same pattern for resolving. Think on how you resolved the Boudoir one. What kind of numbers did you had to search and find? Use the same thinking strategy and you'll find eventually :)

Another really big hint I can give that is that the Study also tells you about another puzzle going on in the mansion, and that puzzle gives you a clue that helps with all the safe codes when solved. That DOES require you to journey around the mansion and solve a whole other puzzle, but it is one of the game's bread crumbs.

yeah I am on that "mansion puzzle" too. there I make progress here and there. But its hard for me since english is not my mother language and I am bit restricted with the words I know in english ^^

So till now I didnt found the study room again BUT I standing here in the Office since 30 minutes looking at the letter with the book titles and here is my guess:
so since the passcode in the Boudoir was a date I guess it is a date here too. one book title on the letter is black so my guess was maybe they said something in the e-mails about the book and since its most likely a date I have to take the date from the email and you can only enter the e-mails in the office. But I didnt found something there and tried a few dates and other numbers on the safe and nothing worked so I dunno :')
