Parlor puzzle doesn't make sense?

Blue box: The gems are in a box with a statement containing the letter "B"
White box: The blue box is true
Black box: The gems are in a box with a statement containing the letter "U"

Blue box is false because all statements contain the letter"B".
White box is false because it says that blue box is true.
By right the black box is the only true box, because only the White box contains the letter "U" in the statement, so the gems should be in the White box.
I looked up the solution and it's the Blue box? What??

Why do you think the Blue Box's statement is false? All three boxes contain the letter 'B', so it *must* be true, and likewise so is White. Thus, Black is untrue, so only the box with a statement that *doesn't* contain the letter 'U' has the gems -- which is the Blue box.

Ok I see it now. I overlooked the U in blue

There are gems in box with b statement also true

The gems are in a box with a statement containing the letter "B" is false only if there are no gems in any boxes

Do you see now that all those statements contain the letter B? And one of the boxes DOES contain the gems. So it is true.

I think they are counting the U in the statement: "The gems are in a box with a statement containing the letter "U". So that is the false box. That eliminates both the white and black box. Thus, the blue box is the answer.
