Inside it is another door to presumably make future access easier, some story clues, and a book

I haven't done it myself, but apparently the electromagnet automatically sucks up the keys from across the counter in the Locksmith shop.

You are going to need the power hammer for outside in the tunnel once you remove all the crates.
