[Several paragraphs of very polite, well-meaning, and intelligent criticism]
[two sentences of thinly-veiled insult]
yeah, that's the mood, alright.
The whole point of making a game a roguelike is to pad the play time and fool you into thinking that it's a big game when it's just a couple of hours stretched into oblivion with pointless RNG grinding.
I really want to enjoy it, but I don't remember a game that was more disrespectful of my free time than Blue Prince is. Maybe "wasting time" is part of the meta / narrative, but at this point I think I'm done with it and I don't really care anymore.
Oh it will, don't kid yourself. Just like soulsbros.
Spending time is exactly why people are enjoying the game but they won't admit it. It's just an idle game masquerading as a puzzle mystery game.
The main goal for this game I think is actually learning the backstory and history of this world and the events leading up to the game.
So if lore is not your thing, then this definitely won't be interesting as actually reaching Room 46 is not end. While you can stop playing over you've done that, you're missing out on the real story
The problem is RNG coming along and tearing pages out of the book to stop you from reading.
But I guess if you beg loud enough, and hard enough, maybe the Devs will take pity on you, and add in a 'Easy Mode' for you that gives all the answers as soon as you find each puzzle, to help shorten the game for you.
I don't think people are taking issue with the puzzles. They're taking issue with the RNG.
Which is understandable. It gets worse the more you play.
