Softlock in (spoiler area)

I seem to have softlocked my game in the large underground area. The sequence of events was as follows:

I entered the Tomb and solved the puzzle with the seven statues for the first time. Then I clicked the scythe statue and went deeper underground. I moved the minecart and rode the boat across the reservoir (which was at, I believe, 1 level lower than maximum? not 100% sure on that), messed around with the gear puzzle and unlocked the machinarium, and then tried to ride the boat back across the reservoir. When I did so, immediately after the boat arrived, the game cut to an outdoor foggy shot of the mountain. After I clicked through that, it went to a cutscene which was a very slow camera movement at night from outside the campsite into the tent. Eventually, the camera went inside the tent, and the screen was completely black, apart from my room layout being displayed on the right-hand side of the screen (kinda like at the end of a day but with none of the other UI). I was stuck on the screen for several minutes with no change (enough to type the entirety of this message) before I manually closed the game.

Upon relauncing, I am back at the start of the day.

I had this happen again when crossing the reservoir in the other direction under otherwise vastly different circumstances. I think it might have something to do with alt-tabbing during the boat crossing.

Also, I can now add detail - the scene with the slow zoom in mentioned in the oriignal post is the cutscene that happens in the background of the scoring scene.

Same here. Boat locked at the other side. Can’t seem to find a way to progress this part without the boat

There are ways to access either side of the reservoir without the boat. You are not locked out of progressing.

That said, it shouldn't crash here, and I've been able to perform the action in question many times without crashing - I suspect it's related to alt-tabbing during the cutscene.

Oh man you didn't mess with the gears enough it seems and missed a whole area

I just saw the boat waiting for me on the other side at level 13 but level 6 is to dock whatever that means

I just skipped it with foundation

According to patch notes, this is fixed in 1.02
