Billiard Room Issue - Spoilers
The Billard room has a puzzle that involves doing some simple math . It isn't very difficult, alluded by a note found in another room, but there is one small issue with it that will likely throw people off that should be fixed. The math logic doesn't follow proper order of operations. You should always multiply before doing any addition or subtraction, but the solutions to this puzzle always follow the order of subtracting then multiplying. The first time I hit the puzzle, the math was 17 green, 15 yellow, 2 red. Translates into +17, -15, x2. The correct solution to open the door is done in that exact order, 17-15x2=4. But, unless the game specifies you're to do it in that order, the multiplication should be done first, which would either result in 19 or -13, depending on which of the first two numbers you multiply.

This could be fixed by adding something simple like a color code on the board showing the order to perform the operations in :) a sticky note on the board with the color green first, then yellow, then red perhaps. Just a suggestion to avoid confusion for order of operations!

You will notice the the operations interact the same way every time and are based on positioning from the bullseye.

I took it that they apply in the order you're taught them. value, plus, subtract, multiply, divide

Other than the math part, I wasn't that confused. There's even +, -, and x on the chalkboard going down in that order. You just have to do a few to see that you can't get a final answer more than 20 or less than 1 otherwise it is the wrong order.

I made a joke about PEMDAS when I got to this, but it was pretty intuitive. The game makes it clear enough what you're supposed to do, I don't think anything needs to be changed/added to make this simpler.

It does mention the order somewhere, iirc a letter in a bedroom... not sure, in any case there is an explanation somewhere for both the colors and order.

it's in the nook but you'll need the magnifying glass to see it

There's nothing to "fix" here. It's a puzzle game. With puzzles. You have to figure them out. Sometimes you need to figure out what the puzzle even is. It takes very little effort to realize that this puzzle has nothing to do with the order of operations, and even if you can't figure it out for some reason, there are clues for it elsewhere in the house.

Simply put, anyone who would get so hung up on the Billard room that they would consider it a thing in need of critque is not the target audience for this game.

It does follow logic.

It follows the order you learn Maths in grade school.

You learn Addition first, followed by Subtraction, then Multiplication, and finally Division.
There is now color coding. And a note explaining it (but not in the same room).
