Rotating room placement
Is it going to be possible to rotate rooms when placing them?
I have a 1 exit room that would fit to continue my path but the game is placing the door in a wall.

I really hope they add this feature because of bad RNG. On the last day i played, i got really unlucky and drafter 8 rooms in total. Got stuck early because of dead end and path looping back where i didn't want.

I agree and I think this feature is absolutely a hard requirement for me to enjoy a full play through of this game, I really wanted to like it but gave up after having nowhere to go with more than half my steps left for the second day in a row because I had been forced to build myself into a corner. In addition to rotation, I think some other requirements are a) indicating locked doors on room selection (I wouldn't have picked a room w/ both exits locked w/ 0 keys!) and b) every "pack" should have a minimum number of exits (ie. don't give me a breaker room, closet and kitchen totaling 1 exit). Also, I get why they have you forced to select a room when you open the "pack" but I would like it if that selection was still locked in, but you could leave to maybe try to find some gems from another door somewhere.
Because of all these issues my frustration around room placement and dead ends drastically outweighed any "fun" I had with the puzzles and exploration.

There are at least two rooms that are rotatable as their room specific perk.

I didn't pay enough attention, but I'm not sure if the other rooms even do rotate, I think they always have the same orientation. The only difference might be which way the door is facing, if it's not just the other side of the room.

The game is very resource managy at it's base. While I'd love to sometimes back out of a room draft myself, quite often it would be because I needed Gems. Should've gotten those beforehand. Also I think it would be a weird gameplace choice to know which doors are locked before opening the room. I think it comes back down to the resource management. But picking rooms based on the open doors feels werid to me personally.

Got to agree. I was having fun for the first two days but on the third and fourth day I got stuck after ten rooms because I had nowhere left to go with plenty of steps.

I hope rotate gets added too - running into a situation where you cannot continue because you can only place 1 of the 3 rooms, and you can't even rotate it to continue on doesn't feel like it's a rewarding choice to go for gems, keys, or coins

Room rng is half the fun and in the full game you won't have a limited amount of days to make it through and there are permanent unlocks so you will get through eventually but this is just a little taste

while at first i found it a burden, i understood why it was like this. then i found rotunda, the rotating room. and noticed i could get a room with 4 doors out of it, and drafts from the room, could be rotated. this and probably more options in full game, is perfect.

As frustrating as it can be to hit dead ends, this is very clearly part of the game design, and rotating would remove most of the game's challenge. It would be an amazing unlockable perk or limited resource, but it should not be the default behavior.

The rotunda sure does that purpuse but that's not what we mean by rotation room. We mean rotating the tile of the room the way we want it.

The rotunda sure does that purpuse but that's not what we mean by rotation room. We mean rotating the tile of the room the way we want it.

The rotunda does that, at least if you draft from it. (As the original comment said) And there are other ways to get room rotation.

There's also the Showroom which sells an item that allows you to rotate the next 3 rooms you draft.

I never saw the showroom but i dont think rotating tiles should be locked behind an item that you MIGHT maybe find.

We'll have to agree on disagreeing on that :). As I see it, it's clearly part of the gameplay to carefully manage your draft pool, to give you the best odds at getting tiles you want.
E.g. in the first half'ish part of the house it's important not to waste too many exits and to use up as many dead ends as possible.
