Just resume on crash.
How would the ability to save & quit mid run (except as a reroll - opened door = choose room before saving) stop you from ending the day first thing upon resuming next time, resulting in the exact same gamestate as if done in one sitting? How would it affect progress in any way?
Would it not rather PREVENT external obligations forcing you to "trash runs" prematurely?
One may need to TURN OFF the computer to come back LATER, as in NOT TODAY. Having a resource heavy game that will not mute or pause action run in the background is very much not what is repeatedly being asked for here as well as mentioned in reviews.
Saving the current state without calling it a day would be somewhat ok, but restoring after crash is the feature that would screw over Morpheus.
Morpheus is spending permanent resources (stars) trying things, experimenting.
If his state gets saved after those experiments even when he alt+f4 it then he has to grind over 50 stars again. That is a long and tedious process for something that might have been impossible to begin with.
I think Prepostersauce is adressing Morpheus and not you.
I thought ALT+F4 was another way of switching out from game with WIN-key, but it's not, but a way to fast-quit that reset to the game state to the start of the ongoing day?
And as such is a unintended way of backing out of some consequences?
Thus OP is asking NOT to have a save & quit feature in case this would fix/break that unintended workaround - ìs that it?
Yes, this. You wouldn't be able to experiment in a day and be able to go back on your actions.
The game does not save until you save it at the end of the day.
An auto mid run save, would break being able to just crash a game and start that day back over.
A mulligan, if you will.
alt + F4 forces the active application to shut down then and there. It's basically crashing the running program.
As long as the midday save isnt some kind of checkpoint or autosave then the possibility of intentionally saving the current state of your game wouldn't block you from experimenting without saving the state of your game and alt + F4ing
That was exactly it; ty :P
This thread has been an interesting read. My interpertation has been sooo many people talking past each other.
At this point I'm not sure ANYONE has understood what anyone else was saying. (Ofc that includes me too :p)
Anyho, the only thing related I have seen asked for is a save and quit that you actively would have to choose, and surely that would not conflict with this ability?
I also think that when the game is paused it should mute properly and game-time should stop, especially given the need for WAITING.
