[spoilers] missing sanctum key
we had two sanctum keys in our inventory, went to unlock the sanctum doors with them and ended our run shortly after.

the following run we found that a sanctum door we previously opened, was now closed again.

we got the sanctum keys from the following locations so far:

reservoir floor, reservoir hideout, room 46, mechanarium, music room, throne room and clock tower

as far as we understand the note detailing where the sanctum keys are, the last one is in the vault, which we have yet to find.

we checked the 7 sanctum key locations (every location but the vault) multiple times now and are aware that the music room key seems to be the one under the most restrictions/conditions, which we still satisfied multiple times, yet none of the keys showed up again.

so now we’re at a point where we know we have found and used 7 sanctum keys, yet only 6 sanctum doors are open.

if anyone encountered something similar and found a solution, help would be greatly appreciated!

Just as an FYI, you'll also need a specific key to get the sanctum key from the vault. There are four and all of them are one-use-permanent and each one grants specific rewards (I didn't get the sanctum key until the third of the four I found). I had to use the Coat Check to hold the first I found until I drew the necessary locations.

I'm not sure what happened to your 7th though. I used each key I found on the door mentioned in the note related to where I found it (to keep track). I did bugger up the 5th one (opened the 6th door and not the 7th) because I thought I had two for some reason, but I was just dumb.

that's really good to know, thank you! we opened the doors in a different order, but the way you did is actually really convenient

we checked for all the keys again in all the locations and none had spawned again, so maybe the game thinks we already found and used them all so it wouldn't spawn any again

It is more convenient to follow the order, because it seems there are typically some clues for that specific sigil along the path for that key.
You will need Vault key 370.

I found mine in the Trading Post so I don't know if it can be found in the house.

I just ended up testing this while attempting to recollect trophies for the Steam version of the game. Can confirm that if you end the day with a Sanctum Key in your inventory, it resets to wherever you picked it up. And naturally crashing or Alt+F4 will undo the day in general, also restoring the key to wherever it was collected.

So if the key's not back at whatever location you originally got it from, that would mean something funny happened to that particular key. Perhaps it was stored in/retrieved from a Coat check for instance, which may have messed with the respawn location of that particular key. Which would be wildly unfortunate and unfixable, as there are only 8 total keys.

What do you mean? Just put it out of coat check and go use it or reset that day.

OP's talking about a Sanctum Door that was previously opened and is now closed, with no key reappearing for it. I'm taking a wild guess at what might have happened to that missing key, because my attempts to replicate the occurrence were unsuccessful. The advice is to triple check all 8 key locations, and if you're confirmed to be a key short then that file has a problem.
Oh, I'd just contact support then.

They can probably fix you right up.

our thinking was similar and we really tried our best to try and respawn it somehow; the coat check was for sure never involved and we're 99% certain that we used the music room key right away, so it shouldn't be that.
we have contacted support and the hope is for that to lead to a solution but until then we had hoped that other people encountered something similar and managed to fix it themselves

anyway, what you shared was still really helpful, so thank you!
I had the opposite problem. I only found 5 keys from the list but i had 6 open doors. Turns out the note is just lying, and the Train Station key is not at the Train Station, but in the Safe House instead.

That's the only thing that makes finding solutions hard. The fact that the game is lying half of the time. Was extremely disappointed that the station did nothing, even though there are power ducts down there...

If you have problems with the vault, i believe it's rng. Seen many people complain that they randomly get the same 3 keys over and over and never the 4th.

used the music room key right away. What do you mean by that, as in you never held any other sanctum key at the same time?

I think it's likely that key anyway as it is the one key that people have had trouble spawning even the first time.

Those seem to be two names for the same place.

Are they powered?

huh? I've never seen any repeat. Once I've used one of them I dont get those again.

"2 names for the same place" Yeah, it's pretty stupid, since if this USED to be a station, the GAME should call it a station, and the PEOPLE should call it a safe house, but it is the opposite, as if this used to be a safe house and was then remodeled into a station, which would make no sense... Yeah, it's just the devs trolling again...

"Powered?" Nope, tried to power the foundation but nothing happens. Google seems to know nothing either. Another red herring / devs trolling i guess.

"No dupes" Really? I constantly got keys for the vault, only to realize "Oh, that one is already open... thanks game!"

The history of this location is explained in one of the books in the library.

Let me guess... it looks like it was built as a STATION of some kind, and now it is being used (or was used) as a safe house...

It's almost like what i said makes sense, and the way it is referred to by the game is wrong.

The game should name the place by its REAL name. Only the humans that have turned it into a Safe House should call it that. Yet, the game calls it a safe house, and the people call it a station, which makes NO sense!

But i am not expecting much to make sense after how badly the story contradicts itself anyways.
