Green rooms - often
Bedrooms - likely
Blueprints - [not mentioned, so normal rate]
Red rooms - seldom
Hallways - rarely
Shops - never
Then within that, there seems to be rules or probabilities where items can be found. So far I've only found the Watering Can in green rooms or the Toolshed.
If you're not seeing some items, I wonder if you are consistently drafting the same rooms in your house. If so, maybe your drafting choices are limiting opportunities for the items to appear. For example, if I don't draft many green rooms, I wouldn't expect to see the Watering Can. (In general, green rooms are a good way to increase the amount of items you find, because they have the highest item drop rate, after the rooms that give a specific number of items like the closets.)
For the Parlor table, I think there's only been an item there maybe 25% or less of the times I draft it. Maybe I have the Lucky Rabbit's Foot when I see items there; I'm not sure. But definitely Blueprints are more likely to have no extra item than to have something. It's only Bedrooms and Green rooms that have good odds of having extra stuff; to get items in any other type of room is lucky.
