"delete it!" (obviously spoilers inside)
so there's a note that says "delete it!" and shows a drawing of what looks like monitors in the security room. one if them is marked with a red "A".

that monitor always shows the archives, so i was sure that i was supposed to remove the archives from the pool and then the monitor will have to show something else, like a useful hint, since it can no longer show that room, right? so i did that (with the blue crown), returned to security... and found out it did jack shît. it was still showing archives. not even sure i care about the "intended" solution now.
puzzles are getting so obtuse and open to interpretations, with good solutions not working. another case was "castling". there's a buttload of hints of how the rook and the king can exchange, and castling specifically, so made rook (nook) and king rooms next to each to each other, then moved the king to the highlighted position as if castling in chess, and it didn't work ofc. i then looked up the "correct" solution, and i had actually thought of it as well, but i didn't want to waste a run trying too arrange it without checking first, as it sounded too ugly.

Orrrrr 'delete it' could have just been a message about the files in the depicted cabinet and how they should be destroyed / footage of them deleted in universe.

Moreover, the 'A' on the image references both the Archives and a larger message spelled out on the monitors.

I don't know that I'd call this particular one obtuse.
There are definitely other puzzles with less natural solves.

The CASTLE puzzle is the worst in the game. The Security A one is good, because it does a few things.

- Gets you thinking about treating the TVs as letters.
- Gets you thinking there may be clues somewhere in that part of the Archive.

Most of the "main" post-game is, I'd say, "fine", but there's some where very useful hints get dripfed to the player in email/log conversations, or in the special memos, in a way that makes it feel unclear what the intended order for post-game content is.

it could have been ok if it didn't say "delete it!". is it just about "swansong" then? (not sure about the last 3 letters though) it's way too late to give hints for that i think, since it should be one of the first things people find out.

SPOILER: that was the only clue I ever saw about the last three letters.
Possiblly the last three letters refers to: Herbert S Sinclaire?

There is a way to remove the archives from the drafting pool. which I have tried. did not do anything that day, but on later days I noticed the dark room when the lights are turned back on, and you attempt to draft from it one of the files will be archived like the archive's downside. Even when Archives was not drafted that day. Not sure if this is a bug or intentional. At this point I feel like all things are intentional. Just don't know where this leads yet.

that really sounds like a bug. i mean, the whole point of removing a room is getting rid of its debuff (and archives' debuff is awful; probably the worst of them).

Honestly it's a bad hint, made worse that it's the ONLY hint you get for it. The "DELETE IT" part is a red herring, or perhaps referencing the fact that security footage was deleted. The only important part of that note is realizing that the central monitors ALL spell out something if you take the first letter of their room names.

It gives you SWANSONGHSS, which is a secondary password you can (only) use at the security terminal to access the 'Home Surveillance System', which is what security footage is recorded to. All this gives you in practical terms is a way to review cutscenes you've seen over the course of the game and two redundant clues to things presented in A New Clue.

It's not the ONLY hint you get for it. This room also has a hint for it The Attic
I don't know why this is so confusing to some people. I figure it out near immediately. The delete it phrase is referring to someone leaving a note to delete the footage for the story spoilers you should have caught onto by this point.

"Delete It" isn't just flavor text and isn't a red herring.

It actually is quite helpful in figuring out which specific filing cabinet you are getting pointed to by the Aquarium. Since the interact button only exists once you have the key, this is a good and useful hint - even if you personally didn't use it that way.

The game, even in late game, isn't linear. Different players will find things in different orders and need these kinds of nuggets of information.

how on earth is it related to the file cabinets?

The A marked on the note is the archives, showing a filecabinet.

ok then i guess i mean how is "delete it" relevant to the file cabinets. if you have the keys, you can just mouseover the cabinets; it doesn't need any further hint
"Delete it" unambiguously refers to the security camera footage that they want deleted that's accessed by solving the puzzle hinted on the same clue (the monitor puzzle)--see all of the hidden messages behind the admin keys
