In need of small hint (spoilers)

The book "A New Clue" holds more than one clue.
I think i know about all of them, but i only understand two,
the sledgehammer and the suspect.
I've seen the other clues, but my understanding isn't perfect.
I know what Red, Green, Violet and Blue correspond to,
and i've seen all the signs, recorded them too.
But i don't know which, of ZXYABC's letters,
correspond to what numbers,
Surely, to figure out the numbers, there'd be a clue on some pages,
but i looked everywhere and found nothing in the text or images.
(Well, except the "DEAD end -> C" clue, but i find it too vague to do anything with.)

1 - Could i get a very small nudge in the right direction for where to look to get a clue
(assuming there is one) on how to deduce ZXYABC,
for example a page number (preferably a page of the book A New Clue)?

2 - Related, one sentence says "assume page count starts on title pages",
which i think is annoyingly ambiguous.
Does that mean that the page says "by Marion Marigold" is page number 2
or page number 1?

1 - Have you been to a station yet? There might be something there which corresponds to the the instructions given by the signs.

2 - The page containing the title when you first click on the book is page 1. I.e. the one also containing "by Marion Marigold" in case of A New Clue.

About point 2 - if you check out a book, there is the place where they put the history of check outs, and then the next page has the title and author. That title and author page is page 1.

About point 1 Put A New Clue down, work through the stuff you did solve. Then when you find a new clue, you'll know exactly what to do. If I were to give a page that has a hint you havent referenced, its the same image as xyzabc

Oh, right, the screenshots i kept forgetting to check every time i looked at that image. And just as i thought, the page count clue is ambiguous. Why add an "s" to "title page"?
