Powered laundry help

I've powered up the laundry room twice and both times tried to dump my stars for allowance, the problem is it isn't doing what the description says. It will take a handful of stars and convert it to allowance then if I try again it just converts the allowance back to stars. Am I missing something here? By a handful I mean like 5-8.

at first i thought it was a convert stars into allowance, its actually a swap

thats what the laundry does it coverts 1:1 both ways so you have 30 stars and 50 allowance it just changes it to 50 stars 30 allowance

Yes it's a swap. By the way, stars are very important in mid/late game, so you should be glad you didn't convert all the stars into allowances.
