Indicator in the boiler room

Does this indicator to the left of the door in the boiling room do/show anything?

I assume it is a redundant feature that does the same thing as the one on the right, incase you dont want to use the one on the right for whatever reason.

I think it *should* display whether the door is powered by steam from the left or right side. Whether it actually works that way, I'm not sure, but since the door could be powered from either side that's what it ought to do.
