I wonder if "late" could be literal, as in late in the day. I don't remember exactly when I found mine but it was completely by accident - I very well could have passed most of the day by the time I drafted the Music Room.
Yes. And I've tried drafting it late in the day as well.
Once it showed up as a draft option I AFK'd for 40+ minutes before placing it lol.
I've tried AFK'ing after getting it as a draft option for a little over an hour and it was only like 3pm in-game when I came back. I wonder if AFK'ing works differently on Xbox.
You may have gone AFK for longer than you thought, and looped all the way back around to the next day. If I remember right, the in-game time to real-time ratio is something like 12 to 1, so roughly an hour in-game every five minutes or so. I've definitely seen a longish run (around 2 hours) loop back around to morning, so that seems about right.
1 hour in-game is closer to 10 minutes real-time, so I'd have to AFK for like 5+ hours to have looped around into the following afternoon. This also means I'd have to AFK for 2 hours just for it to become nighttime, which imho is unreasonable.
ie, if you're always getting a prism key then if you already had one you wouldn't get another one. past that, RNG?
Fair enough. I double checked, and it's 8 minutes real time to 1 hour in-game, so I guess some of those very long runs I'd had were a bit longer than I was thinking (closer to 3 hours than 2).
My last run today I got the Music Room on Rank 9 again (early in the day, not directly connected to the Antechamber). It spawned a Prism Key instead. Did I get hardlocked here?
In my inventory I had Prism Key and Silver Key, the keycard doors were already bypassed, and there was no space for Secret Garden, so that is probably what's required. Exhaust the other keys and then draft Music Room.
What finally ended up working was when I received the key and had less than 10 or so spots to draft in the house. It was also deeper in the house but it wasn't rank 8/9.
That doesn't work, either, as I've drafted it in the final slot multiple times.
Ultimately, the Sanctum Key is simply a rare drop in the Music Room. The more major keys you have in your inventory, the less rare it becomes.
Maybe "late" then refers to late in your run, with few steps remaining?
This also shows they got the sanctum key with little steps remaining
I just got it to spawn again, rank 9 not connected to the Antechamber and not that late in the day, BUT - only ~20 steps remaining. I also only had 4 other open room slots remaining. Maybe those are the variables?
