water level mark at the fountain in the pump room

When I emptied the fountain completely, I found that on its scale indicating the water level, there is a division into two colors, slightly lighter at the bottom than at the top. I tried to set the amount of water in the fountain exactly to this mark, but nothing seemed to happen, does anyone know what this mark is and why it is needed?

Probably marking where the water needs to be for the boat to work from the dock.

Not it Jeris. It just seems to be an odd mark. Perhaps it is the threshold for the well draining to the point of seeing the stairs? I honestly don't know as it doesn't seem to do anything.

This is just a guess:

You can throw a coin each day when the fountain is full. When you drain it, all the coins you've trown in previous days will be in the stairs. This mark may be how low the water level must be in order to pick up all coins that there may be

Assuming you're talking about the display for the pump controlls, the lighter section shows how much you could fill up with what's currently stored in the main tanks.
