Faster Terminal Operation: Yes
Shorten animation at start of day: Maybe after you first find room 46.
Run speed: Is faster outside manor. Plus, it's rude to run in the house.
Checking out books: Maybe let there be 2 or 3 books checked out at a time. Each one is returned after a few days.
Item Description on Pickup: I agree. Descriptions can be found in inventory.
Axe Limit: Definitely needs a limit warning
Skippable puzzle rooms: The puzzles are a part of the room, so allowing you to skip them defeats the purpose.
Conservatory: Rarity changes on any room can be very powerful. Three room choices is plenty. Plus, increasing rarity of a room can also be helpful in room manipulation.
Sometimes rooms just don't line up like you want them to. That's just how the game is designed. Unless you have carried over a key item or effect to the next day, I would mildly advise against save scumming. You may end up with similar results that caused the failure in the first place.
I'm not sure how far in you are but the rooms not lining up becomes a bigger issue later on as you need multiple items/rooms in a single run and to make it to room 46.
I absolutely love the game, it's a work of art imo, but it did become a drag towards the end when you have done a heap of offline work decoding things but then have to spend many many runs waiting for RNG dice to fall nicely.
Re: room rarity, totally agreed on dialling back the rarity being useful, but the flip side is that if you find out later that you need a room for a puzzle (and in the late game that does happen) then being able to make it less rare without needing to pray to the conservatory gods would be a nice QoL tweak.
