Dining Room?

I've hit rank 8 but when I go into the dining room there is no meal. Do I have to do something to make it appear or uncover the tray?

Did you step into a room on rank 8 or just place a room there?
You have to actually step into rank8 for dining room to work.

Did you actually go into the rank 8 room? That's what triggers it, not just drafting the room.
