Do you perchance have an Intel i9-13900 or similar model? They have a known manufacturing defect that leaves them degrading (and causing crashes) as they age, unless the issue is actively managed. Unfortunately the update Intel put out is not enough to properly address it, as far as I'm aware.
If you're on some completely different CPU I can't help with what might be the cause, but if you're on that platform let me know and I can point you to some info that might help.
And yes, it's just this game.
But considering it came near the end of a run in which I made a Huge amount of progress on several fronts, it really hurts...
