Don't have the game yet, I have a stupid question before I buy: Is there combat in this game at some point?
I really really want to play but just want to make sure it's all puzzling, no combat at any point. And no quicktime events either I hope? Can anyone let me know without spoiling too much?

Also this might be a really cheeky question but will the game go on sale to a greater percentage off any time soon? $40 (AUD) is a bit beyond my means right now, I won't be able to afford it for a couple of months.

No combat that I've seen. Not sure if I'd say it's "all puzzling" though. It's more of a hybrid than a dedicated puzzle game.
There are cutscenes but you 'buy' them, so they are optional. I think they are interesting and they give clues to some of the puzzles.

Due to the game just being released, I would not be expecting a discounted price soon, but who knows.

nah there's none of that. nothing that requires mechanical skill or quick reactions. you will need a notepad and an open mind

I mean most games go on sale eventually, I doubt it will be any time soon for this. But it's not a live service game or something where you'll miss things by not being early.

Like it's a good puzzle game with resource management and such, and it's fun. But unless you absolutely can't wait to have the experience, I would say there's no harm on sitting on it and waiting to see if there's a sale (prob more than just a few months tho, if you can handle that) if you're tight on cash. I wouldn't classify it as a "you need to play this now or your life will never be the same" kinda game.

As far as 'quick time events' or anything requiring precise timing or mechanical skill
Without spoiling anything :

There are a rare few items you can find in the game that make everything free for the next minute or so.

There is an optional puzzle that has a solution requiring you to hit a switch and then quickly navigate to another room.

Both of these are massively minor in the scope of the entire game. I think I've encountered the first about three times across 75 hours of play. The second is fairly lenient with its timing but, again, is entirely optional.

It's on Gamepass.... Just buy a month, save money, and get a ton of other games.

Anyone who calls this a walking sim are out of their gourds.
That's like calling Skyrim a walking sim because that's your primary mode of travel.
Nonsense.

It's a walking sim, because aside from the rare cut-scene, there is zero discourse. Its slow, quiet, and 98% walking. Whats out of gourd is being triggered at the truth.

Yes, if you completely discount
Drafting Rooms
Solving Puzzles within those rooms
Managing currencies
Collecting equipment
Managing exhaustion
Then, yes, divorced of the gameplay systems you are constantly engaged with, which you need to express some level of mastery over in order to progress through the game, sure, it's a walking sim.
