I used Blessing of the Monk to brick The Outer Room and The Foundation

1) Get access to the Outer Room
2) Get The Foundation
3) Get Blessing of the Monk
4) Call the day in The Foundation
5) The next morning go straight to the Outer Room
6) Choose The Foundation.

Voila. Both tiles are now useless.

I'm specifically wondering how the clocktower or the Secret Garden would be in the outer room area. Neither are exactly constrained to standard room sizes.

Those are actually the two I specifically did place in the outer room for unrelated progression reasons. I didn't notice anything too special except the Secret Garden still "worked" as it did for me in the manor.

Correction, I also placed a shop and it still functioned as it did. The other exits are just collapsed rubble instead of boarded doors.
