The funny thing is, right after I posted this, I went down to the bottom of the drained reservoir for the first time and brute forced opening the chests with my keys.
Nice. The chests stay unlocked between days though. So even if you hadn't, you could still brute force it piecemeal.
It doesn't remotely seem important, and only the very next time you interact with it after having done the chests do you realize "Oh FML I've had that hint for so long now." If you wanna know the reveal.
The 2 map shards in the underground point it out. One is torn and says "gel points... dreams" and the other is just basically a picture of the reservoir. A picture of the reservoir right where the angel of death points at a seemingly random spot in the water after you used it's limb as a lever. It isn't random. A third fragment of the map is hidden up in the estate, and it clarifies the first torn fragment by reading "The Eighth an ... to our..." adding up to being "The Eighth Angel Points To Our Dreams." There is 7 official angels in the chapel, plus said hidden Angel of Death statue.
