Softlock in Underground?

I previously raised the level of the cog mechanism in the underground. However, I think this means I have no way of getting back to the platform that lets you change the level? Is there a way to do so that I'm missing?

You shouldn't be softlocked. It might take time to find out how to fix it though.

Yeah, I faced the same problem. Found a couple people on reddit who did the same. No solution for it as far as I know. Devs really should add extra switch or return gears back after you rest.

So the other end is pointing towards the long hallway with the room 46 lever?

Yeah, I have no idea how you would fix that. You may be screwed.

Yeah, the rotating platform on the base level is the right angle shaped one, which means I can only access 4 specific platforms (which includes the room 46 lever etc, but means I cant access any of the in between platforms, which includes the raise/lower switch and (as I have discovered in another playthrough) the hidden miners office

Wait, so you can still access the room 46 lever room from the basement? If so, you should be able to fix that.

Oh is there a lever to lower it past the red door ? I didnt see one up there when I went there last

you might actually have locked yourself out of lowering it again if you haven't yet solved the puzzle on the base layer that requires the raising/lowering lever

Actually you may be right. You need to have access to the office from the minecart side to fix it.

Theres a puzzle on the base layer that isnt just work out how to arrange things to get to the room 46 lever?

I'm in the same boat, ended the day in the alcove with the raise/lower gear lever with the cog raised.

Now i cant lower it again.

Hope this is not actually a softlock.

Given this appears to have affected more than just me, I've submitted a bug report, will see if anything comes of it

I saw that red door on the way out to complete my first run and it scared me

I would never end the day in the underground ever lol

Without adding spoilers, I have the cog raised and it isn't impeding my progress. There might be more to unlock, but it is salvageable.
