Spoiler Warning - Possible New Clue

I was in the Orchard and had the self-igniting torch (might also work with the other lighting contraption) . I have the gas turned off in the Orchard and am at the point where the blue flame elevator is working .

I used the torch next to the base of the sundial (I was following a clue for the missing red letter) and got an interaction for the torch. After clicking all over, two scorch marks appeared, and I was allowed to rotate the base of the sundial.

I immediately thought about the 1:30 thing, and went to check the time. I was a bit too late, as it was 2:30 already. I also don’t know how to read a sundial.

Posting here in case someone wants to validate this and see if they can solve it.

Funny that you titled this “A possible new clue”, since the stuff that points you towards finding out you can do this is in A New Clue. It’s the puzzle that includes the book titles you need to unscramble

Ah. I forgot about that reference. Just didn't see anything about it online, so figured it was something "new"

This has been solved,
you can light the base of the sundial twice and rotate two different pieces, if you look closely you can see theres a set of tiles that are smaller, if you align those tiles in the two movable rings with the one unmovable ring, the sundial opens to reveal another location to insert the microchips.
