A Long buried file cabinet key?

Can somebody help me to figure out where to use it?
This is the key that you find in the tunnel after you free it of crates.
Im desperate and even looked online but all I found out that you suppose to use it underground in the foremen's office.
But I can't find the place.

Foreman's Office is the little section off the path when you're running to the Sanctum Doors

its one of the alcoves in the revolving gear room

After I moved the gear up, current gear has a gap so Im unable to reach this alcove.
Is there a way to shift the gear back down? The only alcoves I can currently reach are 2 entrances, alcove with a map and sanctum doors.

Nope. A few people send bug report but there is no fix yet. You will have to look what is in the file cabinet online to solve a couple of endgame puzzles.
