Cursed Chest - Help request

Made it fairly deep on my own, and following in game clues I feel like I exhausted everything I could think of. Looked up the next step, and it appears I need to buy a 'Cursed Chest' upgrade from the gift shop. Problem being, that doesnt present itself as an option. I have tried on multiple tiers (highest of 6 iirc), with and without the shrine, etc. I have bought out all the other items, but it doesnt seem to be there? Anything else I need to do to unlock? Thanks

Sidenote, I seem to have the same thing happening with the Showroom, missing the Moon Pendant, but havent exhausted everything for that one yet - Advise appreciated

I found this addition to the shop.

I think it might have had something to do with a book I read.
Did you buy out and read everything from the book shop yet?
If not that might be something to look into.

You need to perform an action that applies Cursed to you before the Cursed Chest will appear. Try to experiment with ways to cause the game to be "mad" at you. Good luck!

I cursed myself at the shrine twice to be sure, but still not showing up. Ill give it another look though. thanks

Oh, maybe it is the book then! Apologies! I noticed it immediately after becoming Cursed, but it could have been anecdotal timing with the book.

I got stuck here as well, I must have missed this topic as sure would have been useful to me. Thankfully I got a hint from someone else on Reddit and managed to come to the same conclusion. You have to actually check out the in the libary, not just purchase it mind you.

While there does appear to be enough ingame hints and clues to point you towards the items you should be looking for, I'm still not sure what the connection is to the Gift Shop. Surely there has to be something to point you in that direction and not just you need to happen to stumble across it?

Not sure about the Moon Pendant though unfortunately, as I've been following a guide for the majority of the game and haven't had to have specifically seek it out.

It's probably not book related, as including this puzzle, I've only checked out four or maybe five books at most out of all of them.

I don’t know if anything influences the odds, but the moon pendant just shows up in the showroom for me sometimes instead of one of the other items. I’ve never consciously done anything to make it appear.
