Gone from loving......to HATING the Billard room
I used to find the Billard room a very nice fun room, you go in solve a nice interesting math problem and gets some nice keys or items all good. Then things get a little harder ....hmm okay, its..slowing things down some more but I still get it no real problem. Then it gets even harder! Okay this is rough ...I can still do it but....this is getting annoying now and I go less and less. THEN IT GETS EVEN HARDER?!!! Okay this is no longer fun, Im guessing more than solving and its way too much to solve these things, the rewards not worth it, something I draw everytime has now gone in my ban last pick list and when I DO have to do it I use a solver cause I can't be bother anymore.......and there is apparently EVEN HARDER formulas STILL and the rewards the same things and it just....it's just too much man. I'm so sad cause I used to really enjoy this room and then it just got really excessive to point it's basically just a corner room for me now. Unless it turns out you solve the final problem and it becomes another door lever I don't think I'm touching the room again.

What you're experiencing with that room, you will probably experience with the entire game as a whole. Exploring further and further becomes nothing but a chore at some point.

Defenders of the game will say that you are supposed to be bored and frustrated, because that is what the game should "feel" like.
There is an upgrade for that room using the upgrade disc. The speakeasy option significantly reduces the difficulty of the math in that room.
Math problems are no problem for me. I'm just glad none of them have involved rounding decimals so far. I prefer the Break Room upgrade so I can start every day with a security keycard.

Billiards Room I've found to be all but essential in the early game, but by time the math problems start getting more complex (and you're close to earning the Trophy) you should have a grasp of where to find keys when you need them, as well as tricks to reduce the number of keys you need to use. Commissary and Locksmith are wonderful rooms once you've got an allowance built up, and eventually you'll get to the point where you can just toss the Master Key to the house into a Coat Check and basically never need a regular key again. Thereby never needing to do the Dart puzzle.

Give it time, they'll get there. Fraction additions as well. But yes, Break Room is easily the best upgrade for the room and it's barely a contest.

Math problems like this are not difficult for anyone, especially in the age of calculators. The problem is the tedium of doing them over and over again.

Eh, I went with the Pool Hall myself, I almost always get the Utility Room and a terminal anyway which makes the keycard pointless, and the Foyer+Great Hall combo is pretty nice. 🙂 That's just me though.
