"Spread" Mechanic Question

So, When you draft a room with this mechanic, does is it only proc on the relevant rooms ALREADY drafted, or does it also work on future rooms as well. For example, if I draft that green room that spreads gems to other green rooms, does it only work that one time with any other green room you might have already drafted, or will it also apply to future green rooms drafted as well. I think it's the former, but not positive. Thanks.
