My outlook in the game
Dear developer(s),

After many attempts (more than 10 times), finally I've got in the antechamber. Here's my humble opinion on the game. I can't come to this conclusion until I went through it.

Thank you all for presenting such a good work. From the bottom of my heart, I really love the game with this intriguing mechanism, building a brand-new layout of the house every time. Even after solving the whole puzzle, there are still many scattered pieces of storytelling, unfound rooms and unsolved puzzles. This demo shows the game's prospect and potential. Really hope that you guys will prosper and thrive.

To make it a better game, let me get harder on you(XD). Forgive me if you would.

1. Luck. What an utter luck getting into the antechamber in the last game I just went through. I got in at the east side door. At the end of it I had 5 inconsumble items, excessive resources including 5 keys(had a lockpick) 7 gems 14 gold 66 steps(main course still in dining room) 4 doors to be opened. And the Treasure Map!(TAT) Maybe the god thought I'd suffered too much from the previous games and overcompensated me this time.
Just saying maybe we could have a "luck meter" at background running, just so to even out the odds between the lucky and unlucky games. Letting players get to at rank 5 to unlock some more rarer rooms instead of ending the game at rank 3 with 50+ steps would frustrate them less I think.

2. Puzzles. I hope the question bank in the Parlor can be expended in the official launch, and the one in billiard room can be upgraded or can switch to some other commensurable forms. Considering that the game can go beyond merely 4 days (book in observatory and bulletin in commissary prove this fact), these little puzzles can run out sooner or later.

3. Would thickening the background of players' character be a good design? For example, I(the character) work as an architect then I have higher possibility drafting rooms to make the house in a more symmetric layout, but due to a great deal of office work(to counter the advantage), I start with lower count of steps per day. To reverse the pros and cons, an athlete(more steps) can be designed. How about a police officer more sensitive to clues and leads but less sensitive to items(cannot find certain supportive items)? And some corresponding exclusive items can be brought by the character? Player should make some combination of the room to unlock the character. Just a thought. This would make the game much more playable I think. Players can build different character in different new games. And I intrigue some better idea here, a dlc can be added to post-development.

4. Ladders. Just brain storm a little bit. A house so big and fancy like this can have second floor or even garret or little attic, which can also connect a room on the other far side of the house. Maybe it's already in the game because I saw so many unusable ladders.

That's pretty much it. Thank you for your time reading all this. I hope there is anything useful. And once again thank you for bring it to life and I wish you a promising prospect.

Best regard

Supplement to 1, being unable to rotate the room when drafting plays a role as for bad luck.

Yeah the attic that is already in the game is rather small but 8 items for a dead end is amazing!

I think it's off no surprise we can keep going afterwards, the demo is marked as four days to get your feet wet. But stars doesn't necessarily correlate with days. I have a save with I think 18 stars? The lab has a research that gives stars and even more so there's a way to exachange resources for stars

but yeah, it goes further then that and getting more then that in 4 days is crazy

Keep in mind this really is a roguelite, you're supposed to keep starting new days and improve your perks, items, "draft-deck", etc. over time and multiple runs. Bad luck with RNG is part the genre, you just start another run next day...

As shown in the intro video the antechamber is not the end goal and it's probably just chapter 1. If you've been outside and looked over the edge from the viewing platform you can see archways or windows way down in the side of the mountain, so I would not be surprised if we will go down deeper into the mountain or even to other locations (just a guess based on what the Alzara videos have shown so far).

I also think/hope we'll see more roguelite elements in the full game, 4 days is barely enough to get a taste and unlock a few of the permanent perks and items etc. As one example lets just say the book in the Observatory does not show the full list of constellations, if you find the Planetarium room there's a more complete list that goes all the way up to 50. Like TimboJones says there are ways of increasing stars faster but even if you get lucky to do those tricks it'll take some time to reach that number...

I think the player character is already a key part in the story, being the grandnephew who gets the estate if he can find room 46 (as shown in the intro video). Replacing it with a cop or architect would be strange, though I think if you reach certain parts or ending(s?) they could make it so you'll get starting perks on new runs. Happens often in roguelites.

I didn't have a chance for the attic, so yeah I would like to find out what the 8 items are for sure!

You get me more excited about the real official launch of the game!

I agree with you! And more featured characters would reflect the inclusiveness of the country, so why not!

Maybe I can use your help here. The last and only puzzle I can't solve is the computer at the nuclear-signed bunker. Would you think there's something to do with the sealed doors on the path to the apple orchard and the side way connected to that path, or have you found they are correlated?
