the trick is to brew something really weak, since you can only get banana flavor from "Bavarian White Ale I". if you can pen the flavor number of banana under 1.0 then you will definitely get it quite easily. after a single shake of the "yerba mate" herb
should look something like that
This is what I'm trying to do now but I always get a trace of something lower than herbal.
These type of contracts are annoying because for a few I've done something very similar. Id love to see anyone that managed to actually brew a full strength beer that was able to complete this.
Pungent is one but the hops used doesnt list it as a flavor so it could be since I was essentially trying to dry hop the beer to get herbal to show up but I don't know exactly how some of the game mechanics work. I also don't see these showing up when doing the live view of the beer stats so I don't know if they don't show because they are usually 0.2-0.5 or if all arent showing because of the UI settings and me being on a steamdeck.
My plan has been to ferment out a super low abv beer with no hops then try to treat it post fermentation with hops or spices with herb being the lowest, then immediately transfer and without carbonating turn it in.
Small batch with 1.1# sugar, Bayern weizen ii, dry hop 0.4oz Spalter hops for 2 minutes in game, keg, turn in, cheer.
Also, I just noticed I somehow overlooked the solution post haha. Oh well.

Almost all processes are standard except for the short hopping.
Point is yeasts are used in combination with So-Cal Ale 1 + Bavarian White Ale 1 to avoid too strong banana flavor.
- To build mash: Irish Stout 2kg, British 6-Row Pilsner 1.5kg, Flaked Barley 900g, Black Barley 300g
- Used Cluster 5g for the Slow Boil (50 minutes)
- SAVE YOUR GAME HERE
- Between Slow Boil (50 minutes) and Fast Boil (10 minutes), added 65g Lactose and 15g Coffee Powder
- Used 25g Blackwood and 45g Magnus for Fast Boil (10 minutes)
- Cooled wort to 21.9 Celsius, there's a reason for that...
- Transferred wort to Fermentation Container on a Heating Pad set to 21.9 Celsius
- SAVE YOUR GAME HERE
- Grab 3 packets of Bavarian White Ale I and 3 packets of Capital Ale II out of the fridge (each packet is 150g by the way)
- IMPORTANT: For the step further below, monitor the temperature of your Fermentation Container, do NOT let it slip under 21.0 Celsius or your Bavarian yeast is dead!!! The biggest cooling happens when you add the room-temperature yeast, so observe the drop (it's usually around 0.2 Celsius per 150g packet). If your temperature reaches 21.2 Celsius, don't just blindly add more packets, instead close the lid of your Fermentation Container, wait (with watch) until the temperature increases to 21.6 Celsius, then open the lid and resume adding more packets.
- Add 350g of Bavarian White Ale I and 450g of Capital Ale II. You will be using all your Capital packets, but only the full 2 of your Bavarian plus 50g from the third Bavarian packet. GET AS CLOSE TO 50g AS POSSIBLE.
- Close Fermentation container lid & Ferment 15 days
- Add 360g Corn Sugar and transfer to conditioning container
- Condition 21 days
- At this point, Banana and Herbal will differ by 1.3 with Banana as strongest and Herbal as weakest (Banana and Floral differ by 0.6). At this point, you fulfilled the required conditions of the task, but not the bonus. However...
- Transfer to Medium Conditioning container and add water until Banana and Flora differ by only 0.3 (which means Banana and Herbal differ by 0.7). Bam! There's your bonus!
At this point, the brew is more of a British Golden Ale than a Milk Stout, but the Beer Style is luckily not a requirement here...
For medium size batch: Light malt extract 4kg, Roasted barley 1kg, Coffee powder 150g, Saazer hops "Kamen" 400g (for 3-5 minutes), Bavarian white ale I 75g, ferment at 21-22 °C for 15 days, delute with water until banana and herbal get right delta, condition for 21 day.
Actually anithing with banana as strongest flavor and herbal as weakest should work. Just don't make it differ too mach and delute with water.
