Game as a source of learning
Hello!
My dad makes craft beers at home, he asked me if this game could be used as an accurate source of recipes, if what he makes in the game would work in real life. What do I reply to him?

bye

We don't recommend people to create what you create in game, for health and safety reasons :)

So is this made by people who actually know how to make beer?

I'd say this game was made by people who know they can't exactly recommend people to drink :)

I brew beer as well, but I'm not interested in trying to recreate my own brews in-game - what I'd like to know is are the processes accurate - could I have someone else learn the actual processes used in brewing beer? Currently, when I get people to help me, I have to walk them through everything first on a dry run (sometimes multiple times), and then during brew day I still have to remind them of things.

We wouldn't say that you should use this as a teaching method for real life brewing but it does have a lot of similarities.

I don't know if this is a better way to phrase the question.
Is the grain extraction and yeast conversion rates based upon actual equations that (if you had them) you could use to learn larger batches.
My main draw to this game is I can play around with things without spending an additional 2-3 grand in equipment.

And their answer is a veiled "for many legal reasons we can't commit to answering this." I'd remind you that in many states and countries where this game is distributed, teaching people to brew is illegal. Texas formerly outlawed owning the entirety of the Encyclopedia Britannica because a single volume had brewing techniques.

i would advise you to seek help from real life brew masters. i wouldn't rely on a video game for references or teaching method NO MATTER how accurate they seem to be, there are always real world physic's and physical challenges that are not represented. in game ( for example water will boil at different temperatures depending on your elevation, so you may need to adjust different ingredients according to your elevation etc. so it would be best to seek advice from a real human professional

I am not trying to transfer this experience to life verbatim.
I already brew.
I understand that in addition to unsafe temps being held too long and several other things that not every single step is going to be realistic.

I guess I can run a test to see how close a brewsmith recipe is replicated if all the supplies in game are available.

Not entirely sure why you quoted me on this, I never made the statement that everything in here was completely valid or to be followed to begin with. I was clearing up the fact that the other guy kept trying to reword the question to get a better answer, when the answer was "We can't tell you by law" which is part of the forward going into the game to begin with, about how you shouldn't replicate anything here and also alcohol should only be enjoyed or handled in accordance with local laws.

"We can't tell you by law" is the best most straightforward response. Cheers (N/A Beer).
I will now puts around the game, and spend more time reading books.
