Question re saves.

What exactly does it mean to save in a new slot? If I have finished the entire game once and load up a chapter it asks me to save in a new slot. Does that nullify the potential coming chapters after it or only reset/delete all pickups or what? Can I always have access to all chapters and pickups or does it delete them?

Saving in a new slot means it shouldn't affect your other game plays - it should prevent your story from changing if you're loading in midway through the game etc!
