There is a file called "GameUserSettings" in the game location. There I entered a 2 for everything that concerned the full screen and I set the file to read-only. Then start on DX12 mode, then it worked for me.
Hope it works for you!
Thanks, I’ll try this. When I set the game to full screen 1080p the game shrinks and refuses to use my entire monitor. I have a 1440p monitor. Hopefully this works.
here help for wide monitors, i have 3440x1440 and it work

(we also changed the resolution manually in the same file)
The file is located here C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Local\TheDevilInMe\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
I'm sorry to hear that you were experiencing an issue in The Devil in Me whereby your chosen display method and resolution are resetting unprompted.
Does anyone happen to have a screen recording showing the behaviour as it happens that I can take a look at? I saw above that this was being encountered only in the DirectX11 client, but not the DirectX12 one? Is that true for all of you who have replied here?

hey, sorry for the late reply to this, but i just found this thread to see if something has changed after i wanted to play the previous games again. i haven't purchased Devil in me yet (due to the reviews about bugs and such even in recent ones), but this same issue exists in the prior 3 games as well even in the DX12 version as you can see in the video below (showing it in all 3 previous games in a row). Restarting the game after changing the setting doesn't help either.

My guess is that you use the same / similar engine and all that for all of the games, so these bugs probably have the same source.
Also could you guys please fix the clunky movement controls / camera (with mouse and keyboard at least)?
EDIT: also in case it is relevant, this is the content of the "GameUserSettings.ini" in the following path as example for Man of Medan C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\ManOfMedan\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor (later i also tried to change the fullscreen values within it, but it still always goes back to default "fullscreen" ingame)

EDIT2: after turning off HDR in the "Display" settings i could save the borderless mode until i close the game. restarting the game leaves HDR turned off but sets it back to "Fullscreen". setting the file to read-only after changing HDR to off and setting it to borderless now finally leaves it at "borderless"
